PT BUMI Suksesindo (PT BSI) is targeting gold and silver production of 100,000 to 120,000 ounces in 2024.
This was conveyed by President Director of PT BSI Adi Adriansyah Sjoekri in his official statement, as reported on Friday (10/25/2024).
“BSI is an open-pit mine that digs mineral ores and extracts gold and silver content, using an efficient leaching method. The target for gold and silver production this year is 100,000 to 120,000 ounces,” said Adi Adriansyah.
He explained that PT BSI is the only mineral mining company in East Java. BSI is committed to implementing good mining practice (GMP) or good mining principles in its operations.
“BSI’s commitment includes environmental maintenance, occupational health and safety, compliance with labor standards, respect for human rights, community involvement and development, responsible supply chains, and implementation of good corporate governance,” Adi explained.
Adi revealed that the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) has given four awards at once to BSI.
Namely the main award for the technical management category, mineral and coal mining, the pratama award for the safety management category, mineral and coal mining and Aditama, as well as the best for the environmental management category of mineral and coal mining.
“This achievement cannot be separated from the cooperation between the company and the government to create a sustainable mining company,” said Adi.
“This achievement will motivate PT BSI to continue to improve responsible and sustainable mining management,” he continued.
To support good environmental management in PT BSI’s operational area, the company has so far run several environmental programs.
Among others, monitoring environmental quality covering water, soil, and air, land rehabilitation and compliance with regulations. The results of these activities are always reported to the authorities. Adi further stated that as the company ages, control over environmental management at the Tujuh Bukit site is now getting tighter.
This is in line with the various devices owned by the company to monitor the environment, such as Compliance Points.
This water monitoring facility is also equipped with a Continuous and Networked Wastewater Quality Monitoring System (SPARING) as mandated by PerMenLHK Number P.80/MENLHK/SETJEN/KUM.1/10/2019 of 2019. If the water condition exceeds the standard quality value, the water must return to the detoxification process.
BSI also carries out progressive reclamation without waiting for the mining period at Tujuh Bukit to end.
Currently, the total land that has been rehabilitated and reclaimed is 76.23 Ha in the period 2016 – semester 1 2024 with a total of 5,574 seedlings produced in the nursery in semester 1 2024.
