THE INDONESIAN Nickel Miners Association (APNI) released the Indonesia Nickel Price Index (INPI), Monday (3/24/2025).
The price of nickel ore with a 1.2% content based on the calculation of cost, insurance, and freight (CIF) recorded in the INPI shows the same figure as last week’s price, which is US$25.5 to US$27.5 per ton. The average price is US$26.5.
The price for nickel ore with a 1.6% content using CIF is recorded at US$47.5-52 per ton. The average price is US$49.5 per ton. Previously, the price at a 1.6% content was at US$46.5-US$51.5 per ton with an average price of US$49 per ton.
For nickel pig iron (NPI) calculated based on FOB, the price was recorded in the range of US$122.6 per ton, with an average price of US$122.5 per ton. This time, the NPI price experienced a positive increase of 1.9% compared to the previous price. It was recorded that the previous price was in the range of US$120.6 to US$120.6 per ton, with a middle price of US$120.6 per ton.
In contrast to the three types of nickel above which experienced an increase, although slight, High-Grade Nickel Matte (FOB) nickel showed a price decrease of US$13,471 with an average price of US$13,471. The price decrease was up to -91 from the previous price.
High-grade nickel matte with FOB calculations, in the previous week was US$13,676 per ton. The middle price was also at the same level of US$13,676.
Then, for the last nickel product commodity, mixed hydroxide precipitate (MHP) using FOB calculations which was recorded to have decreased at US$12,789 per ton with an average price of US$12,789. This price decreased by -29 from the previous week.
The previous week, mixed hydroxide precipitate (MHP) using FOB calculation was recorded to have increased at US$12,830 per ton to US$12,830, with the middle price remaining at the same figure of US$12,830. (Lili Handayani)
