LME aluminium prices declined on August 19 compared with the previous trading day, while exchange stocks remained unchanged.
The LME aluminium cash bid price stood at USD 3,191 per tonne on August 19, down from USD 3,218.5 per tonne on August 18, marking a decline of USD 27.5 per tonne, or 0.85 per cent. The cash offer price fell to USD 3,191.5 per tonne from USD 3,219 per tonne, down USD 27.5 per tonne, or 0.85 per cent.
The LME aluminium 3-month bid price declined to USD 3,211 per tonne on August 19 from USD 3,232 per tonne on August 18, a decrease of USD 21 per tonne, or 0.65 per cent. The 3-month offer price fell to USD 3,212 per tonne from USD 3,234 per tonne, down USD 22 per tonne, or 0.68 per cent.
For December 27, the bid price stood at USD 3,145 per tonne on August 19, compared with USD 3,152 per tonne on August 18, marking a decline of USD 7 per tonne, or 0.22 per cent. The offer price decreased to USD 3,150 per tonne from USD 3,157 per tonne, also down USD 7 per tonne, or 0.22 per cent.
The LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price stood at USD 3,227.5 per tonne on August 19.
LME aluminium opening stocks remained unchanged at 246,925 tonnes on both August 18 and August 19. Live warrants stood at 244,475 tonnes, while cancelled warrants remained at 2,450 tonnes on both dates.
This marks the first instance since May 22, 2026, when LME aluminium stocks have stayed unchanged across consecutive trading days. The trend has therefore reappeared after around three months.
Meanwhile, the LME alumina Platts price stood at USD 355.26 per tonne.
