LME aluminium prices moved higher on August 7 compared with the previous trading day, while warehouse stocks declined slightly.
The LME aluminium cash bid price rose to USD 3,279 per tonne from USD 3,260 per tonne on August 6, an increase of 0.58 per cent. The cash offer price increased to USD 3,279.5 per tonne from USD 3,261 per tonne, up 0.57 per cent.
The LME aluminium 3-month bid price stood at USD 3,279 per tonne on August 7, compared with USD 3,258 per tonne on August 6, marking a 0.64 per cent rise. The 3-month offer price increased to USD 3,280 per tonne from USD 3,260 per tonne, up 0.61 per cent.
For December 27 aluminium, the bid price rose to USD 3,205 per tonne on August 7 from USD 3,188 per tonne on August 6, an increase of 0.53 per cent. The December 27 offer price also increased by 0.53 per cent, reaching USD 3,210 per tonne from USD 3,193 per tonne.
The LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price stood at USD 3,280 per tonne on August 7.
Meanwhile, LME aluminium opening stocks fell to 257,900 tonnes on August 7 from 259,400 tonnes on August 6, a decline of 1,500 tonnes or 0.58 per cent. Live warrants remained unchanged at 244,650 tonnes, while cancelled warrants fell to 11,750 tonnes from 13,250 tonnes, down 1,500 tonnes or 11.32 per cent.
The LME alumina Platts price stood at USD 346.25 per tonne on August 7.
